摘要: Overlap between depression scale item content and medical symptoms may exaggerate estimates for patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). We reconsider Mohr co-workers' (1997) recommendation to omit Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) items assessing work ability (item 15), fatigue (17), health concerns (20) MS patients. Subjects were either (n = 105) or a disorder which the BDI is empirically supported [diabetes mellitus (DM), n 71; chronic pain (CP), 80], psychiatric depressive (MDD; 37), healthy controls (HC; 80). Relative scores eight “somatic” analyzed by multivariate analysis of variance demographic variables total as covariates. The only significant difference was > HC 15). On raw scores, exceeded HCs on 15 21 (sexual disinterest), but this attributable low endorsement. There no other differences somatic item-total correlations. Scale consistency good across groups, regardless omission. Somatic unassociated major parameters. thus encourage continued application full in MS.
