摘要: The new-born baby' ability to detect similarities and differences between three-dimensional stimuli their two-dimensional representations is investigated in three experiments, using both visual preference habituation procedures. In Expt 1 new-borns strongly preferred (looked more at) complex objects photographs. This was found with monocular viewing, suggests that motion parallax a salient cue the detection of two- stimuli. The results from 2 support view that, for new-born, are detectable or than similarities. These conclusions were further supported by last experiment, simpler stimuli, although rather stimuli. suggest studies which use only may provide limited information about course perceptual development, at least first few months birth.
