摘要: In the late 1950s, study of retinal cells in vitro was its infancy. Today, cell and tissue culture is routinely used for studies growth, differentiation, cytotoxicity, gene expression, death. This review discusses major classifications culture, including primary cell/explant models, retinoblastoma lines, genetically engineered lines. These topics are addressed an historical perspective, coupled with present-day applications this continually-developing technology.
