Queer Male (Post)Soviet Narratives in Interviews by Rita Ruduša and Fiktion by Klāvs Smilgzieds

摘要: One culture within a is the of LGBT people in Latvia or, to use contemporary designation, queer culture. In Latvia, still practically invisible. this paper I will analyse two types narratives: documentary life stories collected by Rita Rudusa her book Forced Underground (2012) and manuscript collection 12 short Klāvs Smilgzieds (2014), originally published serially during 1990s an under ground Latvian gay magazine. Both texts employ different emphasis talking about queers Soviet post-Soviet life. Rudusa’s interviews reflect on situation being closet fear loneliness, while Smilgzieds’ celebrate male body, casual sex, unfulfilled loves.
