摘要: One culture within a is the of LGBT people in Latvia or, to use contemporary designation, queer culture. In Latvia, still practically invisible. this paper I will analyse two types narratives: documentary life stories collected by Rita Rudusa her book Forced Underground (2012) and manuscript collection 12 short Klāvs Smilgzieds (2014), originally published serially during 1990s an under ground Latvian gay magazine. Both texts employ different emphasis talking about queers Soviet post-Soviet life. Rudusa’s interviews reflect on situation being closet fear loneliness, while Smilgzieds’ celebrate male body, casual sex, unfulfilled loves. While interlocutors (mostly men, more or less closeted) construct their narratives seem acceptable straight women, Smilgzieds, closeted bisexual himself (or, as he calls Latvian, divdabis ), uses various modes narrative (parable, miniature, pornographic prose) express both his experience imagination. reveal slow changes consciousness taking place its transition from post- society that result actions such decriminalization homosexuality, existence organizations clubs, issues topics for tabloids TV shows etc. The habitus changing very slowly consequence. construction analysed comparison other narratives.
