摘要: Studies are reviewed that report consumption of soy protein diets inhibits the growth various tumors in rats. The inhibitory effect has been attributed to phytoestrogens (genistein and diadzein) or kinase inhibitor products. Recent studies indicate additional factors products may also contribute inhibition tumorigenesis, namely deficiency essential amino acid methionine. Metastatic lungs a primary rhabdomyosarcoma tumor was inhibited by feeding diet. reversed methionine fortification Carcinogen-induced mammary development during promotional phase rats fed isolate diet with methionine-supplemented Additional demonstrated after excision tumor, when changed from casein isolate. Histopathologic evaluation revealed more benign fibroadenomas lower-grade adenocarcinomas group. Before carcinogen administration (at 7 weeks age), ornithine decarboxylase activity polyamine concentrations rat epithelium were significantly lower These data suggest an on epithelial soy-proteinfed group
