摘要: Although alpha-synuclein is the main constituent of Lewy bodies, cerebrospinal fluid determination on its own does not seem fundamental for diagnosis synucleinopathies. We evaluated whether combination classical biomarkers, Aβ(1-42) , total tau, phosphorylated and α-synuclein can improve discrimination Parkinson's disease, dementia with Alzheimer's frontotemporal dementia. were measured in a series patients disease (n = 38), bodies 32), 48), 31), age-matched control other neurological diseases 32). Mean levels significantly lower pathological groups than cognitively healthy subjects. An inverse correlation tau (r -0.196, P < .01) was observed. In group values similar to controls, whereas tau/α-synuclein ratios showed lowest values. Cerebrospinal alone did provide relevant information diagnosis, showing low specificity (area under curve, 0.662; sensitivity, 94%; specificity, 25%). Instead, better performance obtained tau/α-syn ratio 0.765; 89%; 61%). Combined biomarkers shows differential patterns neurodegenerative disorders. particular, contribute disease. © 2011 Movement Disorder Society.
