摘要: Abstract This paper presents an initial analysis of the rockfall processes affecting walls canyon River Duraton. 34 km long meandering in basin Duero central Spain (41°18′ N, 3°45′ W) has evolved a large-scale outcrop Late Cretaceous calcareous rocks (dolomite and limestone) deformed into series asymmetrical folds. Its vertical scarps range from 80 to 100 m; its width varies 150 300 m; floor is between 30 50 m wide. The research consisted drawing up inventory rockfalls field survey mapping fallen blocks deposited on basal talus or floor, which turn allowed original location each block be identified located orthophotos available. A Digital Elevation Model (DEM) was produced using Geographic Information System (GIS) maps made aspects slopes. aspect data point determined, this database completed with other significant parameters (location valley side, relationship tectonic structure relative age). An approximate delimitation also potential source area, by reclassifying slopes according morphometric criteria. result geomorphic map, showing distribution basic statistical allow preliminary evaluation characteristics relation both their topoclimatic (aspect) structural (with counter dip strata) current dynamic through study recent scars scarps. Recent have been related meteorological conditions they occurred.
