摘要: The acute effects of ionizing radiation on the brain rats were evaluated by using acid phosphatase method Gomori. Head irradiation was carried out with 1000-kv x rays at dose rates 250 to 600 r/min and doses 1500 10,000 r. brains examined 3 hr 4 months later. observed behavioral changes apathy sluggishness correlated alterations in acidphosphatase-containing particles, which showed increased size conglomeration cortical neurons especially Purkinje cells cerebellum. This early cytochemical effect not noted cresyl fast violet or periodic acid-Schiff-stained material. limited ganglion cells; no glial vascular lesions any staining procedure. In higher ranges, up one-half form swelling as well diffuse cytoplasrnic staining. These acid-phosphatasecontaining particles similar rat subjected anoxic anoxic-ischemic conditions, autolysis, injection diphtheria toxin. There also a striking similarity between these kidney liver lysosomes result experimentalmore » hydronephrosis. Animals killed four after demonstrated reversible nature lesion, is reports an initial syndrome. described lesion interpreted morphological evidence cell damage altered cellular metabolism specific caused irradiation. apparent reversibility fact that several different mechanisms have all brain, kidney, further point toward its nonspecific nature.
