摘要: Purpose: Electrical stimulation of appropriate lower urinary tract (LUT) nerves may be used in bladder dysfunction to achieve continence and abolish hyper-reflexic detrusor contractions. It can also for consequent emptying the bladder. To control time course described functional phases, knowledge sensory information is needed. We investigated if latter could extracted from LUT nerve activity. Materials Methods: In acute experiments using 10 pigs, tripolar cuff electrodes were placed unilaterally around pelvic S3 S2 roots. The electrode signals, filling rate rectal pressures recorded during slow fast fillings/emptyings. Results: Two pigs excluded analysis because no observed changes signals one animal, electrical noise problems other animal. Fast pressure increases resulted a sudden signal rise 6 out 7 (3 signal). Slow increase was reflected activity only 3 8 respectively. 2 animals small spontaneous contractions clearly (contractions pigs). Except pig, there slow/fast responses shown that afferent. Conclusions: Cuff record afferent sacral root pig. Pelvic recordings more selective than recordings. Nerve distinct repeatable rapid fillings.
