摘要: Abstract This study assessed the efficiency of commercial-scale psychrophilic anaerobic digestion in sequencing batch reactors (PADSBRs) for pathogen removal from pig manure. The impact treatment cycle length and hydraulic flow regimes on was investigated. Two conventionally operated SBRs (BR1 BR2) two simultaneously fed during draw step (BR3 BR4) were monitored over a two-year period. PADSBRs significantly decreased concentration coliforms, Salmonella, Campylobacter spp., Y. enterocolitica, respectively about 106, 103 CFU g−1, 103, 104 CFU g−1 to undetectable levels most samples. Densities gram-positive Clostridium perfringens Enterococcus spp. remained high (105 CFU g−1) digesters throughout treatment. maintained same level when reduced 2 1 week. Mass balances volatile fatty acids (VFAs) revealed short-circuits inlet averaging 6.3% 6.4% BR3 BR4, reducing overall performance these regarding pathogens removal. results obtained this show ability low temperature remove or reduce indicator raw
