摘要: BackgroundThe prevalence of severe visual-impairment (SVI) and blindness (BL) in children is related to under-five mortality rates which have reduced Tanzania. The types SVI-and-BL Mbarali district not known. We aimed determine the among district, Mbeya, Tanzania.MethodsA population based cross-sectional survey was conducted from March 2016 April less than 16 years all villages district. A total 113 village health workers one each were trained identify with poor vision 5 years. It likely that preventable SVI been by successful child survival programs. In order eliminate avoidable SVI-and-BL, Tertiary eye-services for need be established at Mbeya Zonal Referral hospital combat treatable SVI-and-BL.
