摘要: The field of microbial perchlorate reduction has clearly advanced significantly in a very short period from poorly understood metabolism to burgeoning scientific discovery. As outlined above, there is now much greater appreciation the microbiology involved and application knowledge successful treatment contaminated environments. Overall, future promising even though research this still its infancy. Nothing known evolutionary root metabolism. From biogeochemical perspective, better understanding how formed natural environment what geochemical conditions are required for formation might give some insight into plotting against realistic timeline. it will be important look more extreme environments such as hypersaline or hyperthermophilic obtain DPRB isolates across broader phylogeny establish broad-base molecular chronometer. With development comes ideal electron donors available individual factors which truly control activity these organisms in-situ allowing design effective robust enhanced situ bioremediation technologies.
