摘要: This paper provides an estimate of the economic value wild salmon ecosystems in major watershed Bristol Bay, Alaska. The analysis utilizes both regional and social benefit-cost accounting frameworks. Key sectors analyzed include subsistence, commercial fishing, sport hunting, nonconsumptive wildlife viewing tourism. mixed cash-subsistence economy Bay supports a population 7,611 (2000 census) that is 67 percent Alaska Native. Estimated expenditures net values for all were based on literature review available data, with exception original data was collected 2005 fish sector using random sample licensed anglers. Methods included use input-output model maintained at University Alaska, survey research contingent valuation methods fishermen. Potential respondents 886 resident anglers 1,514 nonresident contacted through mail/internet approach. Additionally, 300 anglers, 330 clients fishing lodges, 46 lodge owners mail survey. Response rates ranged from 25.6 to 44.1 nonresidents. direct expenditures/sales $234.4 million processing, $61 $17.1 viewing, $7.2 subsistence-related expenditures, $12.4 hunting. Nearly 100 private basic 5,540 full-time equivalent jobs are supported by this $324 estimated impact associated ecosystem services. Direct $104 $179 per year, primarily subsistence sector.
