摘要: Developmental disorders of the hippocampal formation (HF) have been described in epileptic syndromes associated with lissencephaly, but HF malformations can be found without widespread cortical changes. We report 19 patients partial epilepsy and abnormal patterns on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The changes consisted incomplete folding medial location along choroid fissure, globular shape and/or verticalization, were observed following three contexts: (1) diffuse disorder neuronal migration (n=1); (2) temporal lobe malformation (n=5), including heterotopia, gyration, and, 2 cases, reduced volume; (3) apparently isolated (n=13, bilateral 3 cases). clinical features heterogeneous terms severity when focus could determined, localization (temporal or extratemporal). In 4 changes, MRI was suggestive both development sclerosis. these patients, presurgical investigation postoperative results suggested multiple epileptogenic foci, involving frontal lobes cases. One specimen large enough for observation developmental abnormalities corresponding to seen MRI. position should included among structural epilepsies. They may represent visible part a more extensive distant brain development.
