摘要: Abstract Preloaded three-lobe and pressure dam bearings were tested with a three-mass flexible rotor. The oil viscosity was varied. resulting changes in the instability threshold measured found to depend markedly on viscosity. Data compared theoretical stability map predictions. data typically 50% higher than predicted for bearing within ±30% bearing. Although predictions are not quantitatively correct, correct trends predicted, i.e. experimental maps show same thresholds as functions of Sommerfeld number.
