摘要: The genus Deutzia (Hydrangeaceae), containing ca. 60 species circumscribed in three sections, is disjunctly distributed eastern Asia and Central America (Mexico). Although the well delimited, its subdivisions into sections series have not been subject of an explicit test monophyly based on molecular data. A comprehensive examination evolutionary relationships within thus still lacking. We present a fossil-calibrated, phylogeny two nuclear ribosomal DNA (ITS 26S) chloroplast regions (matK, rbcL, trnL-F intergenic spacer). Within this framework, we examine character evolution petal arrangement, filament shape, number stamens, infer ancestral area biogeographic history genus. Our suggests that monophyletic. Two major clades are recovered: one composed sect. Neodeutzia from Mexico, other all remaining Mesodeutzia SW China Northeast Asia. latter Asian were each revealed to be polyphyletic. induplicate petals, 2-dentate filaments, polystemonous androecia inferred states. Biogeographic reconstructions suggest origin for subsequent spread Mexico during Oligocene Miocene. Based our results, new infrageneric classification required. propose merge ensure at sectional level. Cooling trends resulted isolation, separating Mexican taxa, while warm period middle Miocene stimulated diversification China. uplift Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau monsoon regimes important promoting high (C) 2015 Elsevier Inc.
