摘要: The study was carried out to document characteristi c dermatoglyphic features in subjects with Diabetes Mellitus and also Essential Hypertension River State, Nigeria. Digital palmar a nalysis of 160 out. 80 (40 males 40 females) were used. Dermatoglyphic such as the digita l patterns frequency, position triradii, b-c a-d distances accessed. results from this stu dy demonstrated that diabetic had significantly higher frequency ulnar loop digital pattern than h ypertensive (76.1%) while hypertensive ha d whorl (66.6%), (P<0.05). It obs erved percentage T-triradii on right left hand male female Diabetic pat ients essential hypertension. observed t hat is highest at T (90.0% for 95.0% female) righ patients (92.5% 90.0% whil e patients, (82.5% an 97.5% (87.5% 9 5.0% patie nts. i ii least frequency. there significant difference ridge count between patient s having average value 13.50 13.54 (12.45 12.00 hand). Al so, averag 14.14 14.34 (13.50 12.50 hand), These demonst rate distinct values which ould be used noninvasive anatomical marker mellitus Hypertension. However, furth er studies are needed confirm these findings Nigerians, possibly using larger population.
