摘要: The global annual carbon dioxide (CO2) gas emissions, one of the major green house gases contributing to warming, into atmosphere have increased 31.5 Gt in 2008 (German renewable energy institute [IWR], 2009), which little over two-third (~22 Gt) were emitted from manmade sources (Benson, 2005). Electricity production and transportation make up total emissions while rest is contributed heating buildings other industrial consumption. Our dependence on fossil fuels continues be increasing with 85% world’s needs still coming burning oil, coal natural 2005) by end 21st century our demand for fuel projected more than double. Some scenarios (e.g. no action taken limit emissions) suggest a doubling CO2 2050. This mainly driven continued industrialization improved quality life not only western countries (North America Europe), but also two largest populated world viz., China India. would further increase strong positive feedback climate change. demands urgent reduce or offset fuels. In this context, efforts are being made cleaner efficient use fuels, capture storage technology considered as main short-term viable strategy help mitigation change decades (Bachu, 2000; Intergovernmental Panel Climate Change [IPCC], 2005; Pacala et al., 2004; Van de Zwaan & Smekens, 2009).
