摘要: The importance of understanding determinants underlining distribution, abundance, social organization and feeding ecology animal has become increasingly vital to develop either appropriate in-situ or ex-situ conservation plans for endangered species. This study applied ecological socioecological models determine the habitat preferences, organisation black-shanked douc (Pygathrix nigripes Milne- Edwards, 1871), an primate with a restricted distribution in southern Vietnam eastern Cambodia. Using systematic survey this thesis provides first evaluation patterns douc; assessment structure, home range species Nui Chua Phuoc Binh National Parks. also model predict potential occurrence regional population Ninh Thuan Province. found that distributed at wide elevation from sea level as much 1,500 m various vegetation types including mixed coniferous/broadleaf forest, sub-montain evergreen sclerophyll bamboo/broadleaf semi-deciduous deciduous scrubs thorny woodland. preferred foraging on trees growing gully area along streams. avoided areas which did not support its locomotion provide food, was too close human habitation. Its associated season influenced by steepness, position landscape, nearest distance water source types. results revealed abiotic factors generally indirectly through food patches. Demographic data NPs showed large douc. minimum number recorded 470 163 respectively.
