Report of seven neurological patients with misidentification syndrome

摘要: Objective: To present clinical, neuropsychological and laboratory data on 7 patients with misidentification syndrome to discuss its possible etiologies pathophysiology. Methods: Seven presenting syndrome, 6 female 1 male, aged 64-78 years were studied. All had a brain disease diagnosed by clinical data. submitted general examination, neurological examinations, magnetic resonance imaging. Results: capable recognize photographs of relatives or famous persons. They presented good visual acuity that allowed them reading texts small print preserved field. The lesions ischemic stroke, left temporal lobe tumor, idiopathic hydrocephalus in elderly patients, Parkinson’s probable Alzheimer’s disease. None enough cognitive disorders characterize senile dementia. Conclusion: Misidentification syndromes are not necessarily related one single psychogenic etiology; the contrary, many organic causes may be picture. Most improved when treatment typical atypical neuroleptic drugs.
