摘要: Physical health screenings were conducted by researchers and peer wellness specialists for adults attending publicly-funded community mental programs. A total of 457 with serious illnesses attended fairs in 4 U.S. states screened 8 common medical co-morbidities risk factors. Also assessed self-reported competencies, conditions, service utilization. Compared to non-institutionalized adults, markedly higher proportions positive obesity (60%), hypertension (32%), diabetes (14%), smoking (44%), nicotine dependence (62%), alcohol abuse (17%), drug (11%), coronary heart disease (10%). lower proportion hyperlipidemia (7%). Multivariable random regression analysis found significant pre- post-screening increases participants’ self-rated abilities practices, competence maintenance, locus control. Screening identified 82 instances undiagnosed diabetes, or hyperlipidemia, 76 where these disorders treated but uncontrolled. These results are discussed the context how this global public approach holds promise furthering goal integrating care.
