摘要: Abstract Aims There is a need to explore the processes of social support and self-efficacy change over time among individuals in recovery homes, assess extent which residents remain abstinent, obtain maintain employment, refrain from criminal activity, utilize health care systems both while within after leaving such settings. Design Residents were recruited interviewed at an initial baseline phase then re-interviewed three subsequent 4-month intervals. Setting Oxford Houses are home residences for with substance abuse dependence problems who seek supportive, democratic, mutual-help setting. Participants A national US sample House ( n = 897: 604 men, 293 women). Measurements Information was gathered on abstinence, support, self-efficacy, history, medical utilization. Findings Change cumulative abstinence predicted by alcohol use, length residency OH (i.e., less than versus ≥ 6 months), even controlling spent OH. Conclusions Results suggest that receiving guidance, information members committed goal long-term sobriety may enhance residents' enable persons recovering other drug addiction reduce probability relapse.
