摘要: OBJECTIVE: The objective was to analyze the correlations between sonographic features of ovarian masses and histological diagnosis. METHODS: A retrospective study which involved 404 female subjects who had developed 446 carried out. Patients been submitted surgery due uni or bilateral tumors were included those presenting with an ectopic pregnancy pelvic inflammatory process excluded. Data from patients' medical charts provided information needed for a detailed following variables: larger diameter, external borders texture masses. This collected data correlated post pathology diagnoses. magnitude associations diagnoses morphologic findings where estimated by Odds Ratio its respective confidence intervals 95%. RESULTS: In their majority, benign (88.1%). Malign corresponded 9.4 % total only 2.5% borderline. Patients' ages ranged 13 63 years (with average 39.1). Regarding irregular poorly delimited masses, odds ratio malignancy 17.8. After analyses complex proved be extremely high (38.6). anechoic thickened septa 35.6, while that solid 15.5. CONCLUSION: Sonographic adnexal having more than 7cm borders, textures mass are highly suggestive malignancy.
