Cognitive deficits in spinal cord injury : epidemiology and outcome

摘要: Cognitive deficits are common among patients with acute spinal cord injury (SCI), but reported prevalence figures vary because of different methods study. Factors associated cognitive in SCI include age, educational background, history learning disability, chronic alcohol and substance abuse, concomitant or recurrent traumatic brain injury. Psychologic testing without indicates that impaired psychosocial adjustment adaptation more frequent who have evidence deficits. Various associations been found between neuropsychologic test performance major depression. functioning premorbid level appear to be medical stability, the patient's ability assimilate necessary skills for survival after SCI, readmission patterns discharge initial inpatient rehabilitation.
