摘要: Infection studies in harbour seal (Phoca vitulina) were conducted with the Snyder-Hill strain of canine distemper virus (CDV) that is virulent for dog and mink. The inoculated seals showed clinical symptoms which to some degree similar those observed CDV infections sensitive species carnivores. Viral replication lymphoid cells was followed by an extended period immunosuppression. results did not provide conclusive evidence viral surface epithelia seals, accordingly no spread infection contact mink demonstrated. pathogenicity increase upon a second passage seal. serological data CDV-infected mounted early specific antibody response. Overall, indicated especially infection. differences vivo biological properties PDV add distinction between these viruses at genomic antigenic levels.
