摘要: Thoracic radiologists meet patients when performing procedures such as transthoracic computed tomography-guided biopsy and during shared decision-making required for lung cancer screening. Both thoracic are influenced by their cultures, which affect health care interactions. While culture may relate to religion or ethnicity of individuals, it also includes multiple additional characteristics gender, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, education, occupation, age, disability, more. Patients from different cultures undergo similar medical procedures; however, must be tailored according the cultural linguistic needs each patient. Cultural competence allows all patients, same radiologist, receive that is patient's needs. concepts awareness, competence, literacy well avoiding bias stereotyping. Culturally competent requires appropriate services interpretation, relating spoken language, translation, related written reports documents. The implications not providing adequate interpretation translation include inability take an accurate history patient understand informed consent forms. radiologic should have culturally practices in place at every step care, starting first phone call making appointment. This will allow linguistically lead better satisfaction outcomes.
