Measurement of the azimuthal anisotropy of neutral pions in Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV

摘要: First measurements of the azimuthal anisotropy neutral pions produced in Pb-Pb collisions at a center-of-mass energy √sNN=2.76  TeV are presented. The amplitudes second Fourier component (v_2) π^0 distributions extracted using an event-plane technique. values v_2 studied as function pion transverse momentum (p_T) for different classes collision centrality kinematic range 1.6 < p_T <8.0  GeV/c, within pseudorapidity interval |η|<0.8. CMS v_2(p_T) similar to previously reported π0 results from √sNN = 200  GeV Au-Au RHIC, despite factor ∼14 increase energy. In 2.5 <5.0  GeV/c, anisotropies found be smaller than those observed by inclusive charged particles.
