摘要: A system for lowering the power output of a video display monitor (347, 447, 547) computer (111, 211) during periods operator inactivity senses presence or absence horizontal synchronization (HSYNC) and vertical (VSYNC) signals, which are normally supplied by host to synchronize data transfer with sweep circuitry. Time sensing means (229, 259) at inactivity, suspends one another HSYNC VSYNC signals. Sync control (451, 551) in both controls power-using circuitry (445, 555) response. In an embodiment applicable monitors having microprocessor, may be incorporated entirely software monitor. dumb monitors, requires add-in and/or add-on devices cooperating software.
