摘要: Abstract Rising penetrations of variable renewable generation in electric power systems can raise operational challenges. One is that renewables increase the need for dispatchable with fast-ramping capabilities. This be costly, because many instances flexible generators more expensive than baseload units have slower ramping If capacity not available, curtailment may needed. An alternate solution to this use energy storage. A question raises how and conventional storage would interact a market environment, whether certain asset-ownership structures result efficient coordination. To end, paper presents multi-period market-equilibrium model interactions between these different types agents. The impacts on integration having limited capabilities are studied through an illustrative case study. We also examine variety participation market. find co-ownership co-operation brings about best results from perspective alleviating inefficiencies. Having directly controlled by operator or participating as independent profit-maximizing firm less efficient.
