摘要: Exposure of hamster tracheal organ cultures to virulent Mycoplasma pneumoniae leads alterations in ribonucleic acid (RNA) and protein biosynthesis metabolism the respiratory epithelium. An examination turnover rates RNA infected indicates that degradation both prelabeled host cell are similar those uninfected controls. Infected shifted a nonpermissive medium within 24 h after infection further incubated for 72 or 96 behaved as normal terms metabolic precursor uptake. Under these conditions, mycoplasmas remained attached Cell membranes prepared from by several procedures neither nor altered activity cultures. These data indicate intimate contact between epithelium does not alone account subsequent interruption but must be accompanied continued multiplication biochemical function mycoplasmas.
