摘要: To clarify the pathogenesis of impaired glucose tolerance in patients with cirrhosis, several factors possibly affecting carbohydrate metabolism were studied 12 cirrhotic different blood responses to an oral test. Glucose levels, 120 min after load, inversely and significantly related insulin sensitivity, measured by means euglycemic “glucose clamp” technique (r=−0.746). Basal glucose-induced secretion (insulin C-peptide levels) only slightly correlated tolerance, which was not functional liver cell mass (galactose elimination), portal-systemic shunting (degree varices at endoscopy), or maximal glucose-independent (peak levels a glucagon test). Multiple regression analysis identified sensitivity as independent variables able explain most variance 120-min (about 84%), both them contributed considerably regression. While reduced is probably main cause hepatocellular appears modulate degree, therefore clinical relevance, this defect.
