摘要: The lack of interoperable (and thus standardized) solutions is stalling the deployment advanced multimedia packaging and distribution applications although most individual technologies are indeed already present. This motivated MPEG (ISO/IEC JTCl SC29 WGI I) in June 2000 to start working on definition enabling normative technology for 21st century: MPEG-21 "Multimedia Framework." MPEG-21's approach define a framework support transactions that highly automated, specifically taking into account digital rights management (DRM) requirements targeting access delivery using heterogeneous networks terminals. article first outlines context background initiative. Then, an overview given. Subsequently, it discussed how can provide universal (UMA). UMA also one use cases has led creation new part dealing with item adaptation. Finally, this concludes related activities outlook future developments.
