摘要: Abstract The thermodynamics of micelle formation by a polystyrene-b-polyisoprene block copolymer in n-hexadecane, which is selectively bad solvent for polystyrene, has been investigated. temperature dependence the critical concentration (c.m.c.) was determined from measurements scattering intensity against carried out at seven concentrations within range (1.24–3.25) × 10−4 mol dm−3. A plot 1n T−1 gave value standard enthalpy micellisation −40.7 ± 2.2 kJ mol−1 chains. entropy contribution ( −TΔS ⊖ ) to free energy found be positive. results are strong contrast those reported synthetic surfactants aqueous media below 50°C favourable change factor mainly responsible formation.
