摘要: Respiratory point-of-care testing (POCT) for the detection of influenza A, B and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) was implemented in response to recent RSV outbreaks at a regional haemato-oncology unit Glasgow. This descriptive study, undertaken pre- post-POCT implementation, suggests that POCT reduces time taken receive results increases diagnostic rates outpatients. It is likely reduction turnaround afforded by also leads faster antiviral treatment, prompt isolation number hospital-acquired infections.
