Male Genital Tuberculosis: A Review of the Literature with Instructive Case Reports

摘要: The prevalence of extrapulmonary tuberculosis, including cases at male genital sites, has remained relatively constant during the past two decades in United States. most common sites tuberculous infection are epididymis and prostate; testicle is infected a lower proportion cases. usual modes involvement include descending from kidneys, intracanalicular or direct extension neighboring foci tract, hematogenous seeding. Local symptoms usually insidious progressive. Systemic manifestations such as fever, chills, sweats infrequently present isolated tuberculosis. Tuberculous can be confused with other bacterial (including nontuberculous mycobacterial) infections, fungal disease, tumors, cysts well number less illnesses. Although some diagnostic therapeutic indications for surgical excision still exist, preferred approach to treatment primarily multiple-drug antituberculous chemotherapy.
