摘要: The arterial system as part of the circulation has been a subject study since Harvey’s monograph 1628. In 1735 Stephen Hales was first to measure blood pressure and noticed oscillatory aspects it. He also suggested that reduction oscillations resulted from compliance. By end last century Windkessel model proposed by Frank lumped systemic tree (Frank, 1899). Although wave travel neglected in this model, importance compliance load on heart clearly brought forward. With modern techniques simultaneous high quality flow data became available. These could be analyzed with newly developed computers led derivation input impedance, comprehensive description system. Knowledge impedance provided great step forward understanding function.
