摘要: Context: Adrenocortical cancer (ACC) is a rare disease with an often fatal outcome. The clinical and pathological diagnosis of malignant vs. benign adrenocortical tumor sometimes challenging. Telomere maintenance mechanisms (TMMs) are critical for the persistence phenotype, but little known about these or their diagnostic value in lesions. Objective: Tissue samples diagnostically neoplasms were evaluated parameters TMMs, telomerase activity (TA), alternative telomere lengthening (ALT). Design: study analyzed retrospectively collected frozen tissue from University Michigan Health System. Patient Samples: Samples included 24 ACCs, 11 adenomas (ACAs), three normal adrenal tissues.
