摘要: Chronic wasting disease (CWD), a fatal neurodegenerative prion of cervids, has spread across North America and been detected in The Republic Korea, Finland, Norway. CWD appears to by horizontal transmission, prions shed saliva, feces, urine are thought contribute. However, studies investigating the rapid have hampered assay inhibitors lack consistent sensitive means detect relatively low levels these samples. Here we show that saliva frequently contains an inhibitor real-time quaking-induced conversion (RT-QuIC) is member mucin family. To circumvent inhibitor, developed modified protein misfolding cyclic amplification (PMCA) method amplify were undetectable or ambiguous RT-QuIC. Our results reinforce impact transmission highlight importance detection optimization.
