摘要: During processing of poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) hydrolytic chain scission, induced by the presence small amounts water, is main cause degradation. repeated reprocessing scission can also occur because other polymeric contaminants like PVC. In order to avoid or limit cleavage adequate drying PET before melt necessary. Of course this practice even more recommended when steps are used, as for recycling. The behavior recycling obtained from post-consumer water bottles treated in a mixer under different conditions has been investigated better understand that reduce scission. both degradation (chain scission) and extension occur. When carried out nitrogen atmosphere latter mechanism prevails leading polymer having larger molecular weight.
