摘要: Abstract An extended review is given of previous structural work on vitreous B2O3 which comes to the conclusion that best model comprises a mixed random network boroxol groups and independent BO3 triangles. The neutron scattering length for 11B slightly greater than oxygen so neutrons should be more sensitive X-rays presence groups. Results are presented from diffraction investigation 11B2O3, using Harwell linac pulsed source, in data have been obtained high vector values ( Q max =40 A −1 ) yielding good real space resolution. It concluded these consistent with group - triangle having 60% boron atoms rings.
