摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter presents some enzymatic studies in Lepidoptera. The pheromones of the Lepidoptera are generally a blend long-chain unsaturated aldehydes, alcohols, and acetate esters. Specificity pheromone signal is achieved by variation chain length, number, location, isomeric nature double bonds, functional group, blending together several compounds precise ratio. Consequently, investigation mechanisms fatty acid biosynthesis, desaturation, reduction characterization pathways for interconversion esters essential understanding control biosynthesis these insects. eastem spruce budworm, Choristoneura fumiferana, (E)-11-tetradecenal (Z)-11-tetradecenal (V) 96:4 pheromone, which attracts male moths same species, secreted from specialized gland located at end abdomen female moth.
