摘要: Abstract Objective To determine the influence of depression symptoms and levels in athletes with gastrocnemius myofascial pain respect to healthy athletes. In addition, a prediction model for kinesiophobia based on descriptive data presence. Design Secondary case-control. Setting Outpatient clinic. Participants A sample 50 was recruited divided into chronic (n = 25) (n = 25). Main outcome measurements Depression scores were self-reported by using Beck Inventory – II (BDI-II). Results Statistically significant differences (P = 0.011) moderate effect size (d = 0.77) (P = 0.036) found between both groups showing greater (13.00 ± 13.50 points; range from 0 28 points) versus (4.00 ± 7.00 19 points). Higher BDI-II only predicted presence (R2 = 0.134; β = +5.360; F[1,48] = 7.428; P = 0.009). Conclusions Greater exhibited compared score pain.
