摘要: Most companies in the Netherlands can be labeled as family firms (according to GEEF definition (Mandle, 2008; Floren et al., 2010). The firm regarded an open system model comprising three overlapping, interacting, and interdependent subsystems: owners, family, managers (Moores, 2008). This is known three-circle model. Tagiuri Davis (1996) stipulate that have unique resources create positive negative outcomes for firm. notion has more recently been referred “familiness” of (Sirmon 2003). In this dissertation, resource-based view (RBV) adopted theoretical foundation understanding distinct attributes a (Habbershon & Williams, 1999). With RBV primary framework, dissertation looks at strategic private how those are influenced by involvement. focus on development tacit knowledge social capital, literature indicates involvement may strong influence these components (Arregle 2007a). need empirical research field capital within context made clear review extant research. also reveals specific topics interest: role diverse links among various dimension transfer during business successions, construct climate. Therefore, question addressed is: How does privately held firms, what extent impact performance? answered basis presented dissertation. All studies rely quantitative method. Chapter 2 examines ownership capital. study focuses random sample 708 non-family with multiple owners. 3 investigates relation between product innovation. 4 spousal financial performance copreneurial businesses. 5 explores post-succession continuity
