摘要: Bleaching was studied in populations of phylogenetically closely related species (n = 21) mushroom corals (Scleractinia: Fungiidae) around Pari Island (Java Sea) during a period excessive seawater warming 1983. The interspecific variation the proportions affected individuals significant. Spatial degree bleaching anlong fungiid assemblages depended much on relative abundances. Mushroom In relatively stagnant water lagoons and inner reef flat showed little bleaching. Many outer at ≤ 9 m depth were affected, but only few greater depths (≥15 m). most fungiids, bleached part pale (associated with pigment loss) instead white (assumedly caused by zooxanthcllae expulsion). difference between paled whitened not clearly depth-related, probably species-related. Most fungiids over their whole upper surface, whereas others mosaic pattern. Entire common 20 cm), usually occurring deep, least affected. latter may have escaped recurrent downward migration.
