摘要: An archaeological excavation in the Tungelroyse Beek valley revealed remains of two red deer specimens (Cervus elaphus) Early Mesolithic age that possibly were victims hunter-gatherers. The find animal this is unique Netherlands. In respect, a sediment core taken close to was investigated, i.e. reconstruct vegetation and landscape development site more evidence for human activity at during Mesolithic. shows typical Holocene palynological sequence from Younger Dryas into Middle Atlantic, which supported by AMS dating. microscopic charcoal record peaks fire Friesland phase, probably wildfire related. Records spores coprophilous fungi indicate Tungeroyse favourable place large herbivores (game) visit investigated period. However, around oldest remains, no significant peak or visible record. pollen diagram does not show disturbed open either. This study therefore suggests impact people on their environment very low.
