摘要: Studies on several aspects of the life cycle hookworms (Uncinaria spp.) in California sea lion (Zalophus californianus) and northern fur seal (Callorhinus ursinus) were conducted material collected San Miguel Island (SMI), at The Marine Mammal Center, Sausalito, 1997, 1998, 1999. Examination Z. californianus intestines for adult feces eggs revealed that longevity these parasites pups is about 6–8 mo, infections are probably not present older lions. Parasitic third-stage larvae (L3) recovered from ventral abdominal tissue californianus, suggesting transmammary transmission. Callorhinus ursinus had no hookworm their or worms (except 1 probable contaminant) fall early winter, revealing Uncinaria spp. spontaneously lost <3 mo age pups.
