摘要: Based on experiences of integrated pest management (IPM) development and implementation efforts in Asia, this chapter elaborates implications the choice for an appropriate form learning platform separate steps a research cycle, order to contribute sustainable agricultural development. The achievement high quality impact farmers’ fields substantial scale manner, is dependent upon several requirements. First, solid technical content activities should be available farmers. Second, effective attractive methods mechanisms allowing farmers enhance knowledge, skills collectivity need employed. Third, encouraging environment facilitation farmers, preferably place so are able continue expand processes tackle many issues potentially contributing improvement their livelihoods. Farmers’ ownership over will enhanced when platforms established facilitated collectively various jobs at hand. Three discussed which characterised by: specificity regarding composition partner categories involved allow specific objectives different stages cycle; complementarity link these finally achieve impact. Farmer researcher teams, composed usually two representative from community who intensively all planning, implementation, analysis evaluation, have shown greatly relevance, applicability efficiency more basic applied, innovative research. field schools provide experiential opportunities farmer groups develop crop knowledge skills, further test adapt information innovation offered. Community IPM facilitates collective experimentation address that sustainably lives communities. Anticipation application complementary designing implementing projects likely result synergies sustainability none could accomplish alone. 121 boek def 23-05-2002 12:40 Pagina
