摘要: Noninvasive mechanical ventilation (NIV) is widely used in the acute care setting for respiratory failure (ARF) across a variety of aetiologies. This document provides European Respiratory Society/American Thoracic Society recommendations clinical application NIV based on most current literature. The guideline committee was composed clinicians, methodologists and experts field NIV. The developed GRADE (Grading, Recommendation, Assessment, Development Evaluation) methodology each actionable question. Evidence to Decision framework development tool generate recommendations. A number topics were addressed using technical summaries without these are discussed supplementary material. 11 questions PICO (population–intervention–comparison–outcome) format, all addressing use various aetiologies ARF. specific conditions where made include exacerbation chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cardiogenic oedema, de novo hypoxaemic failure, immunocompromised patients, chest trauma, palliation, post-operative care, weaning post-extubation. summarises state knowledge regarding role Evidence-based provide guidance relevant stakeholders.
