摘要: We propose MAX, a system that facilitates human-centric search of the physical world. Instead organizing objects priori, it allows humans to for and locate them as needed. Designed following objectives: (i) operation, (ii) privacy, (iii) efficient searching any tagged object, MAX provides location information in form natural humans, is, with reference identifiable landmarks (such as, “on dining table”) rather than precise coordinates. In system, all objects—from documents clothing—can be tagged, users then using an intuitive interface. To make efficient, adopts hierarchical architecture consisting tags (bound objects), substations landmarks), base-stations localities). Tags can marked either public or private, private searchable only by owner. also privacy spaces. It requires minimal initial configuration, is robust reconfiguration space. present methodology design energy-optimal delay-optimal query protocols variety device choices, this optimizes performance, affords insight into appropriate actions various scenarios. have implemented simple prototype demonstrating feasibility over several locations across wide area. contend MAX-like will enable sharing (e.g., books on college campus) trading buying selling used books) resources, engine host new applications.
