摘要: Migraine is a disabling common brain disorder typically characterized by attacks of severe headache and associated with autonomic neurological symptoms. Its etiology far from resolved. This review will focus on evidence that epigenetic mechanisms play an important role in disease etiology. Epigenetics comprise both DNA methylation post-translational modifications the tails histone proteins, affecting chromatin structure gene expression. Besides playing establishing cellular developmental stage-specific regulation expression, processes are also for programming lasting responses to environmental signals. Epigenetic may explain how non-genetic endogenous exogenous factors such as female sex hormones, stress hormones inflammation trigger modulate attack frequency. Developing drugs specifically target open up exciting new avenues prophylactic treatment migraine.
